2016 Varsity Season Recap

11/4 – The Bridgewater Raynham field hockey team  (13-4-2) lost in the first round of the state tournament to Franklin High School 1-0.

BR fought hard the entire game. Seniors Kelly Page, Ali Daisy, Maria Savingano, and Erin LaMarca all played well for the Trojans.

Thank you for your support throughout the entire season.

10/29 – The Bridgewater-Raynham field hockey team (13-3-2) celebrated their seniors today with the last regular season game and a strong finish heading into the post season with a 3-1 win over Plymouth South High School.

Senior captain Ali Daisy had 2 unassisted goals and senior Erin LaMarca had 1 goal assisted by captain Kelly Page.

The Trojans look forward to the post season pairings on Monday!

10/27 – The Bridgewater-Raynham field hockey team (12-3-2) beat Falmouth High School 3-2 this rainy afternoon.  After being down 2-0 with 16 minutes left in the game, senior captain Maria Savingano scored a hat trick to put the lady Trojans on top. Senior captain Ali Daisy assisted one goal.

The hard work in the midfield by the dynamic duo of juniors Peyton Elliot and Savannah Paige allowed the offensive push the Trojans needed.

The Trojans host Plymouth South High School on Saturday morning at 11am for their last regular game of the season.

10/25 – The Bridgewater-Raynham field hockey team (11-3-2) clinched the Old Colony League Championship with a win today over Dartmouth High School 2-0. The Lady Trojans attacked right away with a goal from senior captain Maria Savingano, assisted by junior Peyton Elliot. Elliot then continued the offensive rush putting one in the net herself.

The Trojans strong defensive play from Brooke Baron, Riley McDonough, and Katelyn Peterson helped junior goalie Hailey Colon with another shut out.

BR host Falmouth High School on Thursday afternoon for a 4pm game.

10/24- The Bridgewater-Raynham field hockey team (10-3-2) beat West Bridgewater High School 3-2. BR goals were scored by senior captain Maria Savingano (assisted by junior Katie Swart), senior captain Ali Daisy (assisted by captain Kelly Page), and junior Peyton Elliot (assisted by junior Savannah Paige).

Sophomore Emma Snelgrove played tough on defense and junior goalie Hailey Colon had 8 big saves in the net.

The Trojans host Dartmouth High School tomorrow at 4pm for the OCL championship

10/18 – The Bridgewater-Raynham field hockey team (8-3-2) clinched a spot in the MIAA Division 1 tournament this afternoon with a 1-0 win over Durfee High School.

Junior midfielder Savannah Paige crushed a shot from the top of the circle and junior midfielder Peyton Elliot tipped the ball in the net!

BR heads to Brockton High school Thursday for a 4pm game.

10/15 – The Bridgewater Raynham (7-3-2) field hockey team lost a hard fought battle to Dennis Yarmouth 1-0. After losing to DY early in the season 7-0, BR came ready to work hard. The Trojans defense led by Brooke Baron, Riley McDonough, and Emma Snelgrove contained DY for 52 minutes of the game before they scored. Junior Hailey Colon had 12 saves in the net.

Forwards Katie Swart, Kelly Page, Erin LaMarca, and Ali Daisy pushed down the field up until the last seconds of play.

BR hosts Durfee High School on Tuesday afternoon.

10/14 – The Bridgewater Raynham (7-2-2) field hockey team beat Plymouth South High School 3-0.

Senior Captain Maria Savignano led the way with two goals, one assisted by captain Ali Daisy. Senior Captain Kelly Page had one goal, also assisted by Daisy.

Senior defender Brooke Baran, junior Riley McDonough, and sophomore Emma Snelgrove all played strong in the backfield. Junior Hailey Colon had another shut out for the Trojans with 8 saves.

BR hosts DY tomorrow at 1pm.

 

10/11 – The BR field hockey team (6-2-2) beat conference rivals Barnstable High School in a 4-3 victory on their home turf.

Senior Captain Kelly Page had a hat trick (2 of the goad were assisted by Co-Captain Ali Daisy) and was the driving force before he Lady Trojans offense. The fourth goal was scored by junior Katie Swart, assisted by junior Peyton Elliot.

Senior defenders Katelyn Peterson, Brooke Baran, and junior Riley McDonough played well in the defensive zone. Junior goalie Hailey Colon had a career high of 20 saves in net.

BR heads to Plymouth South on Friday for a 3:30 game and hosts DY Saturday afternoon at 1pm.

10/4 – The Bridgewater-Raynham field hockey team (4-2-2) beat conference rivals Dartmouth High School in an afternoon battle 2-0. Senior Captain Ali Daisy had one goal assisted by Senior Captain Maria Savingano. Daisy returned the favor and assisted Savingano’s goal with less than 5 minutes left in the game.

Junior midfielders Peyton Elliot and Savannah Paige kept the pressure on Dartmouth’s defense with strong passes up and down the field.

Junior goalie Hailey Colon had another shut out with 12 big saves, 5 coming with less than 2 minutes left of play.

The Trojans will host New Bedford High School Thursday afternoon for a 4pm game.

9/27 – The Bridgewater-Raynham (3-2-2) field hockey team beat West Bridgewater 3-0. Senior captain Ali Daisy had two goals assisted by junior Savannah Paige and the second goal assisted by senior captain Maria Savignano. The third goal was scored by junior Katie Swart.

9/20 – The lady Trojans fought hard yesterday afternoon and tied conference rivals Barnstable High School 2-2 in an afternoon match up. Junior Katie Swart led the Trojans with 2 goals and Junior goalie Hailey Colon had 6 big saves in net.

The Trojans (2-1-2) head to Durfee High School Thursday for a 4pm game.

9/13 -The Bridgewater-Raynham field hockey team beat Brockton High school 6-0. BR spread the goals around with Senior Lexi Rosario leading the pack with 2 goals, senior captains Kelly Page and Ali Daisy each contributed with one goal a piece and juniors Peyton Elliot and Katie Swart had one goal a piece.

Center defender Brook Baran played tough in the backfield helping keep the ball out of the circle. Junior goalie Hailey Colon had 3 crucial saves getting her first shut out of the season.

The lady Trojans (2-0) head to the cape for back to back non-conference games  Friday night vs Falmouth High School and Saturday at Dennis-Yarmouth High School.

9/8 – The Bridgewater-Raynham field hockey team beat New Bedford High School 5-2 in their opening game of the season. Senior captain Kelly Page was on fire with one 1 goal and 4 assists, accompanied by senior captains Ali Daisy and Maria Savignano each contributing with one goal. Senior Lexi Rosario and junior midfielder Peyton Elliott each put one in the net and junior Katie Swart had one assist. Junior goalie Hailey Colon had 5 saves in net. Juniors Savannah Paige, Peyton Elliot and Riley McDonough all were key contributors as play makers in the midfield. The Trojans will host Brockton High School on Tuesday afternoon for a 4 pm game.
