On Wed night, Bridgewater-Raynham lost it’s opening match to Brockton High School 5-1. The game was much closer than the final score would show. Brockton was leading 1-0 on a penalty kick as the first half wound down, instead of taking the one goal lead into halftime, Brockton went on the offensive, scoring with just over a minute left. Down 2-0 in the second half, Bridgewater-Raynham pushed forward to cut into Brocktons lead, leaving themselves vulnerable to counterattacks, which Brockton took full advantage of. The lone bright spot in the Bridgewater-Raynham opener was a Keegan O’connor head ball goal off of the foot of Ryan Bettencourt late in the contest. Bridgewater-Raynham plays Marshfield at home on Friday.
